The INSEAD Innovator Prize 2023 will be awarded to: Manu & Michiel Beers, Founders of Tomorrowland

Awarded for creating Tomorrowland as a magical music experience, thereby revolutionizing the festival industry and building a leading worldwide brand

Martine Reynaers, MBA’80, President of the INSEAD Alumni Association Belgium, requests the pleasure of your company at the INSEAD Innovator Prize 2023 on Tuesday, the 14th of November 2023 at 7.00 PM

Through this choice, the INSEAD Innovator Prize Selection Committee wants to highlight the innovative and entrepreneurial drive of Michiel and Manu Beers, creating in a very successful way a new type of music festival and even a new industry – becoming a major Belgian export product.

Thus, the Beers brothers created an impressive impact on the international business community and society at large:

• They launched Tomorrowland in 2005 with a unique fantasy concept, and created a totally new form of Music Festival where DJ’s are the big stars – bringing over 600,000 festival guests to Boom every year
• They introduced a number of ground-breaking innovations at festivals – many of which have now been copied elsewhere (like gourmet food, luxury camping, cashless payments, …)
• They developed Tomorrowland beyond the original Festival by bringing Tomrrowland to other locations and entering new businesses like One World radio, a DJ Academy, fashion and interior decoration products – all based on the Tomorrowland theme
• They turned Tomorrowland into one of the most well-known Belgian brands around the world
• They are the driving force in creating an event technology hub in Flanders – a starting point for even more innovation in the industry
